Seventeen months ago, we changed our pricing setup. We learned a lot since, and we’re going to apply our findings. In a few words, new subscriptions are now available—check them out!
If you’re a current Essentials or Premium subscriber, fear not: Your subscription remains unaffected. Current Enterprise subscribers will find that their licenses have been upgraded to allow more sites.
So, what did we change?
Change #1: No more Essentials
The Essentials package is gone—yet you’ll still find that we provide Essentials-only extensions. Current Essentials subscriptions will go on for a while, but there aren’t that many. We noticed that our customers favor the full package. Preferably, more affordable, which leads us to change #2.
Change #2: Affordable Premium subscriptions
To make the Premium license more affordable, we need to lower the price. Well then… so, we did—with a few minor tweaks. To achieve the lower pricing, we reduced the base activation and API request limit. With that, you can now get the new “Pro” subscription license.
These changes save you 15% when you only maintain 1 or 2 sites, without any discernable drawbacks for almost all our users.
Change #3: Standardizing “volume” licenses
Many customers reached out to us about volume licenses for agencies. First, we forewent them. Then, we displayed them on a separate page to reduce the much-feared friction. Ultimately, this separation didn’t sit well with us. So, they’re now the new default.
With relative minor bumps in the price, you can now get your hands on a 20-site “Business” or even a 200-site “Agency” license.
Are you in need of more sites? Then you can get multiple licenses. Or, you can reach out to us for an exclusive offer.
Change #4: Support levels
Henceforth, we provide different support levels, based on your subscription:
- Level-1 support: This includes bug, billing, and installation support. It comes with a Pro license.
- Level-2 support: We provide you workarounds to current issues (when possible). This level comes with a Business license. All public inquiries will receive this level of support for free.
- Priority level-2 support: Same as level 2, but your message is flagged so that we’ll put our other work aside. This is included with an Agency license.
Level-3 support entails that we help with custom integrations with other plugins and themes. Because we want to focus on the further development of our plugins fully, we will not engage with this. If you’d like custom features, please reach out to our partners at Codeable; or, kindly suggest us a feature on TSF’s GitHub repo.
Change #5: Don’t affect current users
Oops, that’s not a change. If you’re a current Early-Bird or another non-Enterprise license holder, you will not notice a change in your subscription pricing, nor site and API limits.
To clarify, if you’re an Enterprise subscriber, you will have your site-limit increased to accommodate for the pricing changes. However, you won’t find a change in your subscription pricing.
Adding to that, if you’re already an Essentials and Premium subscriber, you will continue to receive private level-1 support (that is help with bugs, plus installation & billing support). Enterprise subscribers will start receiving priority level-2 support (workarounds to current issues).
You’re free to get the new licenses whenever you please and cancel your old one. As always, if you signed up or renewed in the past 30 days with us, you’re eligible for a refund so that you can up-or downgrade easily.
Change #6: This won’t be the last change
We’re going to start experimenting routinely with transitory implementations, such as trial-subscriptions, and different licensing compositions. We’re also on the lookout for tailored licenses for enterprises, universities, and non-profits. Nothing of this is set in stone, and we haven’t planned anything drastic, so there’s no need to hold your breath.
Now, it’s no secret our world is currently facing tremendous hardship. We’ll keep an eye out on the economy, and we may need to adjust accordingly without explicit notice (such as this blog post).
Whatever happens, we’re ready for you whenever you need us. Stay safe; we’ll make it.
